Extension of the Sabadell FGC line
The Generalitat de Catalunya (autonomous government of Catalonia) improved the railway connection between the areas of Barcelona and Vallès Occidental (the two most populated in the region) with 2.5 million and 1 million inhabitants, respectively. The Barcelona – Vallès line is used by approximately 3.7 million passengers per year and it has a total length of 38 km.
GPO carried out the construction supervision for the extension of the Sabadell FGC line, with a total length of 5,247 m. It includes a double tunnel with two tubes of 6 m in diameter and 2,912 m of length, five new underground stations and approximately 2,000 m of artificial tunnel. The work also includes the new depots and shunting area, both structures with a length of 300 m.
